adventures of the locked-out roommate
So I managed to get myself locked out of my house last night. Because I'm that smart. I was outside for 10 minutes getting some CDs from Wes, and unbeknownst to me, my roommate left and locked the door. When I left, my roommate was in her room, and I didn't tell her I was stepping out for a second. This was around 10:45 pm, and she usually doesn't go anywhere that late on a school night, so I didn't really think it would be a problem.
Now, I did think about bringing my keys, but then I thought "nah, it'll be okay." or not. when i got to the front door and discovered it was locked, i knocked on the door and rang the bell, figuring my roommate probably just walked out and noticed it was unlocked and locked it back. no such luck. i walked around and saw that the light was off in her room and her door was open, so she was definitely gone. my other roommate had left earlier in the evening to study and she didn't have her cell phone with her (it had gone off in her room earlier).
So there I am, stuck outside in the middle of Atlanta with no keys and no phone and a stack of about 15 CDs. My mind is racing - where can I go? who can I call? I finally decided to walk down to Kelly's about a block away and try to call someone from there. Thank goodness she was home. So I decided to call my sister to see if she had Wes's cellphone number. She did, and I called him and he picked me up and I hung out with him and some friends for awhile. When I went back to my house, my roommate was there and I got back in and all was well. Man, I sure was panicked there for awhile though. I think I even dreamed about locking myself out again.
The things we go through for free music.
